Ingredients

  • 1 can Tuna (drained)
  • About 1/4 cup Pickled Radish (finely chopped)
  • 3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 bowl Warm Cooked Rice
  • 2 pinches Salt
  • A pinch of Black Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the pickled radish. Briefly rinse the pickled radish under running water to remove some of its tanginess, then finely chop it. This ensures the radish is evenly distributed in the rice balls for a better taste.

Step 2

Let’s make the flavorful filling! In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, chopped pickled radish, 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, and a pinch of black pepper for extra flavor. Gently mix with a spatula or spoon until well combined. The richness of the tuna, the tanginess of the radish, and the creaminess of the mayonnaise will create a fantastic flavor.

Step 3

Season the rice. To 1 bowl of warm cooked rice, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 2 pinches of salt. Mix gently with a spatula, cutting through the rice as you mix, while the rice is still warm. This helps the seasoning penetrate evenly and gives the rice a glossy finish.

Step 4

Now it’s time to shape the rice balls. Take a portion of the seasoned rice into your hand, spread it out slightly, and place a generous amount of the tuna mayo filling in the center. Cover the filling with the rice and gently shape it into your desired rice ball form by rolling it in your hands. You can make them round or oval – either way is delicious! These are perfect for kids’ snacks or a light meal.
