Main Ingredients

  • 7 Shrimp balls (frozen)
  • Rehydrated Fu Zhu (dried bean curd sticks, soaked in water) – appropriate amount
  • 1 Bok Choy

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp Tuna extract (or soy sauce)
  • 1 tsp Minced garlic
  • Canola oil (or cooking oil) – a little
  • 1/2 cup Dashi stock or water (approx. 100ml)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the bok choy. Gently separate the leaves and wash them thoroughly under running water. If the leaves are very large, cut them in half into bite-sized pieces.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pan with a little canola oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp balls and the rehydrated fu zhu. Stir-fry until lightly golden. Pour in 1/2 cup of dashi stock or water and bring to a simmer. Cook until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the liquid has mostly reduced, add the prepared bok choy to the pan. Season with a pinch of black pepper, then add the minced garlic, oyster sauce, and tuna extract. (Tip: While minced garlic isn’t shown in the photo, adding it will significantly enhance the flavor!)

Step 3

Step 4

Stir-fry everything quickly until the bok choy is slightly wilted and the sauce coats all the ingredients evenly. Turn off the heat. Be careful not to overcook the bok choy, as it will lose its crisp texture.

Step 4

Step 5

Serve the delicious stir-fried shrimp balls, fu zhu, and bok choy over a bowl of hot rice. This makes a wonderfully satisfying and complete meal!
