Seasoned Pickled Radish Strips (Danmuji Muchim): Quick & Delicious Side Dish
Super Simple & Chewy Pickled Radish Strips Salad
This is a side dish my mom used to make often when I was little. I bought some recently and realized how incredibly simple it is! It’s perfect to enjoy with ramen or whenever you need a quick side dish to complete your meal. The chewy texture and tangy-sweet seasoning will awaken your appetite.
Ingredients- 1 pack chewy pickled radish strips (Danmuji)
- 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (Gochugaru)
- 2 stalks green onions (scallions)
- 1/3 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Since the pickled radish strips can be quite salty, rinse them once under cold water. After rinsing, squeeze out as much water as possible with your hands. This helps the seasoning adhere well and maintains the chewy texture. Gently separate any clumps of radish strips.
Step 2
Add the red pepper flakes, minced garlic, chopped green onions, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds to the prepared radish strips. Chopping the green onions finely will add a lovely aroma.
Step 3
Now, gently toss and mix everything together with your hands until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the radish strips. Avoid mashing them too hard to keep their crisp, chewy texture.
Step 4
Your delicious seasoned pickled radish strips are ready! It’s incredibly simple, isn’t it? Transferring it to a serving dish makes it look even more appealing. Complete your meal with this effortlessly prepared side dish.
