Savory Zucchini and Tofu Grill
Surprisingly Simple Yet Incredibly Delicious Zucchini and Tofu Grill!
Try this amazing dish made with zucchini, which is incredibly affordable these days (under $1!), paired with tofu. It might seem simple, but the taste is truly exceptional! A fantastic side dish that’s perfect for any meal.
Main Ingredients- 1 block (approx. 500g) Tofu
- 1 Zucchini (medium-sized)
- 5cm white part of Green Onion
- 1/2 Korean Chili Pepper (optional)
- 1/2 Red Chili Pepper (optional)
Sauce Ingredients- 2 Tbsp Water
- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Allulose (or Corn Syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Fish Sauce (or substitute with soup soy sauce)
- 2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Allulose (or Corn Syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Fish Sauce (or substitute with soup soy sauce)
- 2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the zucchini thoroughly and slice it diagonally into approximately 0.5cm thick pieces. Cutting it diagonally not only enhances flavor absorption but also makes for a more appealing presentation.
Step 2
Slice the tofu into similar thickness (about 0.5cm) as the zucchini. Matching the size and thickness of the tofu and zucchini helps ensure even cooking, preventing burning or undercooking.
Step 3
Lightly sprinkle salt on both the sliced zucchini and tofu to season them. Let them sit for about 5 minutes, then gently pat them dry with a paper towel for best results.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients: 2 Tbsp water, 4 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp allulose (or corn syrup), 1 Tbsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp fish sauce, and 2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds. Whisk well to create a uniform sauce.
Step 5
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Place the prepared tofu and zucchini slices in the pan. Grill them until they are golden brown and slightly crisp on both sides. Be careful not to use high heat, as they can burn quickly.
Step 6
Arrange the grilled tofu and zucchini pieces, alternating them, in a serving container. Drizzle the prepared sauce evenly over the top. Your delicious Zucchini and Tofu Grill is now ready to be enjoyed! It tastes great served immediately or chilled.
