Main Ingredients- A small amount of glutinous millet
- A small amount of glutinous sorghum
- A small amount of black rice
- 300g prepared wrinkled cabbage (siraegi)
- 7 medium-sized shiitake mushrooms
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by preparing the wrinkled cabbage and shiitake mushrooms. You’ll need approximately 300g of cleaned, ready-to-use wrinkled cabbage and 7 medium-sized fresh shiitake mushrooms.
Step 2
Gather your mixed grains for the rice. Measure out 4 cups of glutinous brown rice as the base. Add smaller amounts of glutinous millet, glutinous sorghum, and black rice according to your preference for a flavorful and nutrient-rich blend.
Step 3
Clean the shiitake mushrooms, remove the stems, and slice them thinly. Slicing them ensures they cook evenly and infuse the rice with their wonderful aroma and savory notes.
Step 4
Rinse the wrinkled cabbage thoroughly under running water, squeeze out excess moisture, and then finely chop it with a knife. Chopping it into small pieces will ensure it integrates well with the rice grains for a pleasant texture.
Step 5
Now, transfer all the prepared grains (glutinous brown rice, millet, sorghum, and black rice) into the inner pot of your rice cooker. Top this with the sliced shiitake mushrooms and the finely chopped wrinkled cabbage.
Step 6
After adding all the ingredients to the pot, use a spatula to gently mix everything together, ensuring the grains, cabbage, and mushrooms are evenly distributed. Cook the rice using your rice cooker’s ‘Mixed Grains’ or ‘Brown Rice’ setting for the best results. If you don’t have these options, use your standard multi-grain setting.
Step 7
Once the rice is cooked, carefully open the rice cooker and serve the aromatic Wrinkled Cabbage and Shiitake Mushroom Rice into bowls. Enjoy it warm to savor the delightful fragrance of the cabbage and mushrooms.
