Main Ingredients
  • Fresh or dried gosari (fern shoots) 300g
  • Minced garlic 1/2 tsp
  • Soy sauce 2 tsp
  • Green bell pepper 1/4
  • Green onion 1 handful
  • Perilla oil 1 tsp
  • Toasted sesame seeds 1 tsp

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s get started on making delicious stir-fried ferns! If you’re using dried gosari, soak it in water for at least 30 minutes until well-hydrated. If you’re using fresh gosari, start by thoroughly washing it.

Step 2

Place the prepared gosari in a frying pan. Add 1 teaspoon of perilla oil and gently stir-fry over medium-low heat, being careful not to burn it, to release its aroma.

Step 3

Once the gosari is somewhat cooked, season it with 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic and 2 teaspoons of soy sauce. Add 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds for extra flavor. Finally, toss in the thinly sliced green bell pepper and chopped green onion. Stir-fry gently until all ingredients are well combined for a delightful Gosari Namul Bokkeum!

Step 4

For an even more delicious stir-fried fern dish, it’s a good idea to remove the tough, fibrous ends of the gosari stems during the washing process. Removing just these parts will significantly improve the texture.
