Hello everyone! Today, I’m excited to share the ‘golden recipe’ for making a delicious Spam and Mushroom Stir-fry at home – it’s simple and wonderfully savory. This dish, with its delightfully chewy mushrooms, is perfect as a warm side dish for rice on a chilly day or even as a light snack with a drink. You can create a satisfying meal without needing fancy ingredients!
Main Ingredients- 1 pack Oyster mushrooms (approx. 200g)
- 1/2 can Spam (approx. 200g)
Seasonings & Others- A little cooking oil
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- A pinch of salt (adjust to taste)
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the oyster mushrooms. Trim and cut the thicker stems into 2-3 cm pieces, and leave the thinner parts as they are or cut them to a similar size. Slice the Spam into pieces about 1 cm thick, similar in length and thickness to the mushroom pieces, for a good texture when cooked.
Step 2
Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the prepared oyster mushrooms first and stir-fry them. Cook until the mushrooms release their moisture, shrink, and start to turn golden brown. Stir-frying the mushrooms first helps to enhance their flavor and prevent the dish from becoming too watery.
Step 3
Once the mushrooms are partially cooked, add the sliced Spam to the pan and continue to stir-fry them together. As the Spam becomes nicely browned and releases its savory fat, it will blend beautifully with the mushrooms, making the dish even more delicious. Now, add 1/2 Tbsp of soy sauce, a pinch of salt (be mindful of the Spam’s saltiness and adjust accordingly), and a pinch of black pepper. Stir well to combine and continue stir-frying.
Step 4
Finally, when all ingredients are thoroughly stir-fried, turn off the heat. Transfer the ‘Spam and Mushroom Stir-fry’ to a serving plate.
