Savory Soy-Glazed Sea Snail Skewers
[One-Pan] Shiny Soy-Braised Sea Snail Skewers ~*
Here’s a recipe for glossy, delicious soy-braised sea snail skewers, perfect as a simple side dish for drinks or as a flavorful addition to your rice bowl! My husband, who loves seafood over meat, gave this dish a big thumbs up! It’s quick, easy, and sure to be a hit.
Main Ingredients- 200g prepared and boiled sea snails
- Bamboo skewers
Seasoning- 3.5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of ground ginger
- 2.5 cups water (standard paper cup)
- 3.5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of ground ginger
- 2.5 cups water (standard paper cup)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the prepared boiled sea snails under cold water and pat them dry. Thread them onto the bamboo skewers, about 2-3 snails per skewer, for a nice presentation.
Step 2
In a wide pan, combine 2.5 cups of water, 3.5 Tbsp of soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of brown sugar, a pinch of black pepper, and a pinch of ground ginger. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once the sauce is bubbling vigorously, carefully place the prepared sea snail skewers into the pan.
Step 3
Maintain medium heat and continuously spoon the braising liquid over the sea snail skewers to ensure even coating and flavor. After simmering for about 5-7 minutes, or when the liquid has reduced by more than half, lower the heat to low.
Step 4
Continue to spoon the sauce over the skewers even on low heat. Keep basting until the sauce thickens and coats the sea snails with a glossy sheen. Once the sauce reaches your desired consistency, turn off the heat.
Step 5
Using a spoon, drizzle the thickened remaining sauce from the pan evenly over the sea snail skewers on the serving plate. This ensures a rich, flavorful finish. Serve immediately while warm for the best taste.
