  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Perilla Oil
  • 1 cup Water (200ml)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Ground Perilla Seeds

Begin by trimming off the tough ends of the shiitake mushrooms. Slice the mushrooms, including the stems, into thin strips about 0.5cm thick. Ensure they are cut into bite-sized pieces for easy cooking and eating.

Heat 2 tablespoons of perilla oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced shiitake mushrooms, minced scallion, and minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the ingredients to meld together. The mixture might seem a bit dry initially as the mushrooms release their moisture, but this step helps develop their rich flavor.
