It’s potato season! I made a simple stir-fry with sausages and fresh potatoes from the fridge. This is a quick and satisfying dish.

Main Ingredients

  • Grilled Vienna Sausages 100g (about 5 pieces)
  • Fresh Potato 1 medium
  • Cooking Oil, as needed

  • Fine Salt, to taste

Cooking Instructions

Thoroughly wash the potato and cut it into thin matchsticks, about 0.5cm thick. Similarly, cut the Vienna sausages into thin strips of similar thickness. Cutting them this way ensures they cook at a similar pace, making them perfect for stir-frying together.

Rinse the julienned potatoes lightly in cold water to remove excess starch, then drain them well in a colander. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the drained potato matchsticks and a pinch of fine salt. Stir-fry until the potatoes are golden brown and translucent. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.

Once the potatoes are tender and nicely browned, add the sliced Vienna sausages to the pan. Stir-fry together for another 1-2 minutes until the sausages are heated through and well combined with the potatoes. Be careful not to overcook, as the sausages can become tough.

Transfer the delicious sausage and potato stir-fry to a serving dish. It’s best enjoyed while warm. For an extra touch of flavor, you can sprinkle a little black pepper on top if desired.
