Main Ingredients- 500g sliced duck meat
- 1/2 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3-5 tablespoons ground perilla seeds (adjust to taste)
Seasoning- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 tablespoons mirin (or cooking wine)
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 tablespoons mirin (or cooking wine)
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the 500g of sliced duck meat in a bowl. To remove any gamey odor and tenderize the meat, add 3 tablespoons of mirin and gently massage it into the duck. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Peel and thinly slice the 1/2 onion. Slice the 5 cloves of garlic thinly as well, or give them a rough chop. You can adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
Step 3
To the marinated duck, add 1 tablespoon of salt, a pinch of black pepper, and the star ingredient: 3 tablespoons of ground perilla seeds. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed. You can increase the perilla seeds to 4-5 tablespoons for a richer flavor, if desired.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned duck meat and stir-fry quickly. Once the duck starts to release its fat, add the sliced onions and garlic. Continue to stir-fry, making sure not to burn the ingredients, until everything is nicely browned and cooked through.
Step 5
Once the duck is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the pan from the heat. Serve in a bowl and enjoy! This dish is wonderful served with rice and wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves. It’s the perfect nourishing meal to enjoy after the holidays!
