Main Ingredients- 200g fish cakes (eomuk) – choose your favorite shape like square or rolled
- 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 mini shiitake mushrooms (stems removed, thinly sliced)
Seasoning- 2 Tbsp brown rice oil (or vegetable oil)
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp honey (adjust to taste, can substitute with corn syrup)
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients by cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Slice the fish cakes into bite-sized squares or rectangles. Thinly slice the onion. Remove the stems from the mini shiitake mushrooms and slice them thinly.

Heat 2 tablespoons of brown rice oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until they become slightly translucent. This step helps to bring out the natural sweetness of the onions.

Once the onions are slightly softened, add the sliced shiitake mushrooms. Continue to stir-fry for another 30 seconds, allowing the mushrooms to release their fragrant aroma.

Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic to the pan. Stir-fry quickly for about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn the garlic, to infuse the dish with its pungent flavor.
