Basic Ingredients- 60g Ground beef
- 30g Carrot (finely chopped)
- 2 bowls Cooked rice (warmed)
- 1 Bell pepper (seeds removed and finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Cooking oil
- 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Cooking sake (to remove beef odor)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- A pinch of Black pepper
- 1 Tbsp Sesame oil (for nutty aroma!)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the vegetables that will add a nice texture to your rice balls. First, remove the seeds from the bell pepper and finely chop it, along with the carrot. Chopping them finely makes them easier for children to eat and blends well with the rice.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Sauté the chopped carrots until they are slightly tender, being careful not to burn them. Once softened, transfer them to a separate bowl. Avoid overcooking them to the point of becoming mushy.
Step 3
In the same pan, add the chopped bell pepper and sauté briefly. It’s best to cook them for a short time to maintain their crispness and fresh aroma. Transfer the sautéed bell pepper to the same bowl as the carrots.
Step 4
Now it’s time to cook the star ingredient, the beef. Reheat the pan and add 60g of ground beef. Cook until the pink color disappears. Then, add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cooking sake, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir-fry until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the beef. Be careful not to overcook the beef and make it dry.
Step 5
Combine the cooked carrots, bell pepper, and sautéed beef with 2 bowls of warm cooked rice. Finally, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a rich, nutty flavor. Use a spatula or spoon to mix everything thoroughly, ensuring the ingredients are evenly distributed within the rice. Mixing while the rice is still warm helps the flavors meld better.
Step 6
Using rice ball molds or your hands, shape the fried rice mixture into desired sizes and shapes, such as round or triangular. You can also roll them in seaweed flakes or sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture. Making them small, bite-sized portions will be especially appealing for children.
