Main Ingredients- Beef (for bulgogi) 400g
- Million-Songi Mushrooms 300g
- 1/2 Onion
- 1/2 Green Onion
- A little bit of Carrot
Seasoning & Sauces- 2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (or Mirin)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Grapeseed Oil (or Vegetable Oil)
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (or Mirin)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Grapeseed Oil (or Vegetable Oil)
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, add 1 Tbsp of grapeseed oil to the pan and stir-fry the chopped green onions until fragrant. Once the aroma of the green onions fills the air, add the shredded carrots and stir-fry them briefly to enhance their sweetness. Sauté the carrots just until they are slightly tender.
Step 2
Next, add the thinly sliced onion and stir-fry it with the other vegetables. It’s important not to overcook the onion until it becomes mushy; aim for a slightly crisp texture. Stir-fry quickly so that the flavors of the ingredients meld together.
Step 3
Remove the stir-fried vegetables and carrots from the pan and set them aside in a separate bowl. Pre-stirring the vegetables this way helps them maintain their fresh texture when later stir-fried with the mushrooms and beef, preventing them from becoming watery.
Step 4
In the same clean pan, add the seasoned beef (for bulgogi) and stir-fry. Be careful not to overcook the beef, as it can become tough; cook it only until it’s about 90% done. While stir-frying, you can cut the beef into bite-sized pieces with scissors. This helps the seasoning penetrate evenly, making it more flavorful.
Step 5
Slice the Million-Songi mushrooms into large pieces. If you really enjoy mushrooms, don’t hesitate to add a generous amount. Place the mushrooms in the heated pan and stir-fry until they wilt and soften. This process will bring out their flavor and reduce their volume, making them easier to eat.
Step 6
Once the mushrooms have wilted, return the pre-stirred vegetables to the pan. Continue to stir-fry briefly until all ingredients are well combined. Finally, season with 1 Tbsp of oyster sauce to adjust the taste. Finish by adding 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic for enhanced aroma and flavor. Enjoy your delicious meal!
