Super Simple Seasoned Bean Sprouts with Miso – Perfect for Rice Bowls
I made super simple seasoned bean sprouts with miso for a weekend side dish. Adding a bit of water makes it delicious to scoop up with rice! This recipe is incredibly easy and results in a flavorful side dish that pairs wonderfully with rice.
Main Ingredients- Fresh Bean Sprouts 270g
- Green Onion 1/2 stalk
Seasoning- Coarse Gochugaru (Korean chili powder) 2 Tbsp
- Miso Paste 1 Tbsp
- Sesame Oil 1 Tbsp
- Toasted Sesame Seeds 1 Tbsp
- Coarse Gochugaru (Korean chili powder) 2 Tbsp
- Miso Paste 1 Tbsp
- Sesame Oil 1 Tbsp
- Toasted Sesame Seeds 1 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water. Place the rinsed bean sprouts in a pot and add just enough water to barely cover them. Be careful not to add too much water, as it can dilute the flavor of the bean sprouts.
Step 2
Cover the pot and cook over medium heat until the bean sprouts are fully tender yet still slightly crisp. It’s important to achieve a pleasant crunch. Once cooked, turn off the heat and add 1 Tbsp of miso paste, 2 Tbsp of gochugaru, and the thinly sliced green onion. Mix everything together well. Ensure the miso paste is dissolved smoothly to distribute the seasoning evenly.
Step 3
Finally, drizzle in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and gently mix once more. Adding sesame oil at the end helps preserve its fragrance and enhances the nutty flavor.
Step 4
Now, sprinkle 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds over the seasoned bean sprouts. This adds visual appeal and an extra layer of flavor. Your delicious seasoned bean sprouts are ready! Enjoy them with a bowl of warm rice.
