Seasoning- 2 Tbsp Perilla oil
- 3 tsp Ground perilla seeds
- 2 Tbsp Anchovy sauce
- Minced green onion, for garnish
- 2 Tbsp Perilla oil
- 3 tsp Ground perilla seeds
- 2 Tbsp Anchovy sauce
- Minced green onion, for garnish
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the cleaned taro stems. Heat 2 tablespoons of perilla oil in a wok or deep skillet over medium heat. Add the taro stems and stir-fry until lightly browned and the moisture has evaporated, ensuring they don’t burn. This step helps to enhance their savory flavor.
Step 2
Once the taro stems are partially cooked, add 2 tablespoons of anchovy sauce and 3 teaspoons of ground perilla seeds. Continue to stir-fry, mixing well with the taro stems. The anchovy sauce adds a savory depth, while the ground perilla seeds boost the nutty aroma and flavor.
Step 3
Add the prepared oyster mushrooms to the wok and stir-fry them together with the taro stems until well combined. Cook until the mushrooms soften and wilt. The chewy texture of the mushrooms complements the taro stems beautifully.
Step 4
Finally, add the minced green onion and stir-fry for another minute or two until everything is well incorporated and the flavors meld together. The fresh aroma of the green onion balances the dish.
Step 5
Transfer the delicious stir-fried taro stems and mushrooms to a serving plate. Serve warm for the best taste. Enjoy this nutritious and savory vegetable side dish!
