Ingredients
  • 1 packet Carbonara Buldak Bokkeummyeon
  • 100g pork belly
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp wine or soju (for removing pork odor)
  • 1 handful baby greens (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 100g of pork belly and place it in a pan. Grill it over medium heat until it’s golden brown and crispy. The rendered fat from the pork belly will be used later for sautéing the onion.

Step 2

Once the pork belly is nicely browned, add 1 thinly sliced onion to the pan with the rendered pork fat. Sauté over medium-low heat until the onion becomes translucent. Adding 1 Tbsp of white wine or soju at this stage will effectively remove any porky smell, enhance the sweetness of the onion, and improve its texture.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, combine the liquid sauce and powder seasoning from the Carbonara Buldak Bokkeummyeon packet to create the sauce base. This sauce combination is versatile and can be applied to any Buldak Bokkeummyeon variety!

Step 4

While the noodles are boiling, push the cooked pork belly and onions to one side of the pan (or temporarily set them aside on another plate). In a pot of boiling water, add the Buldak Bokkeummyeon noodles and cook according to the package instructions. While the noodles are cooking, add the pre-mixed Carbonara sauce to the pan with the sautéed pork belly and onions, stirring well to combine.

Step 5

Once the noodles are cooked, drain them lightly and add them directly to the pan with the pork belly, onions, and sauce. Stir quickly to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the sauce. Stir-fry for about a minute, ensuring the noodles don’t get mushy.

Step 6

Plate the finished Samgyeopsal Carbonara Buldak Bokkeummyeon attractively. Top generously with fresh baby greens for a vibrant color and a refreshing contrast. For an even richer and creamier experience, consider adding a raw egg yolk on top. Enjoy your simple yet sophisticated homemade meal!
