Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the sauce for the Tteokbokki rice cakes. In a pot, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp corn syrup, and 1/3 cup water. Stir well. Cook this mixture over medium-low heat as if you were cooking regular tteokbokki. Be careful not to reduce the sauce completely, as you’ll use it to season the vegetables later. It’s best to leave it slightly liquid.
Step 2
While the sauce is simmering, heat a separate pan or wok over medium heat. Add the 100g of marinated bulgogi from the supermarket and stir-fry it until cooked through. Allow the meat’s natural juices to cook along with it.
Step 3
Once the bulgogi is partially cooked, add all the pre-chopped vegetables to the pan. This includes the cabbage, imitation crab sticks, square fish cakes, and onion. Stir-fry everything together with the bulgogi for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. You want the vegetables to remain slightly crisp.
Step 4
Now, carefully transfer the cooked rice cakes and sauce from the pot into the wok with the bulgogi and vegetables. Stir everything together well to ensure the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients. Finally, drizzle in a bit of sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a fragrant finish. Your Royal Stir-fried Rice Cakes are ready to be enjoyed hot!
