Ingredients- 1 serving of pasta noodles (approx. 100g)
- 6 fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- A suitable amount of squid, cleaned (rings or desired cut)
- 200ml heavy cream
- 1 handful of fresh spinach
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- A pinch of red chili flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, heat a wide pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of olive oil. Once the oil is warm, add the minced garlic and red chili flakes (if using) and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; infusing the oil with its aroma is key.
Step 2
Add the prepared shrimp and squid to the pan. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the seafood turns opaque and is cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as shrimp and squid can become tough.
Step 3
Now, add 1 Tablespoon (Tbsp) of oyster sauce, the star ingredient of this pasta, and stir-fry with the seafood. The deep flavor of the oyster sauce will coat the seafood, enhancing its umami.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to medium-low, then pour in the 200ml of heavy cream. Once the sauce begins to simmer, let it gently bubble for 1-2 minutes without stirring. The cream will thicken slightly, forming a smooth sauce base.
Step 5
Add the cooked pasta noodles directly into the sauce pan. Toss thoroughly to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. It’s important to mix well so the pasta and sauce meld perfectly.
Step 6
Finally, add the washed spinach. Cook just until the spinach wilts, stirring quickly. Overcooking will diminish the spinach’s fresh flavor and color, so a brief stir is all you need. Your delicious Oyster Sauce Cream Pasta is now ready!
