Main Ingredients- 2 bowls of warm cooked rice
- 200g pork tenderloin, cut into 0.5cm thick strips
- 20g fresh bean sprouts (or your favorite sprouts)
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- Pinch of black pepper (to remove pork odor)
Pork Marinade- 1 Tbsp sake or mirin (for tenderizing and flavor)
- 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide or corn syrup (for glaze and sweetness)
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce (for umami)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp sake or mirin (for tenderizing and flavor)
- 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide or corn syrup (for glaze and sweetness)
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce (for umami)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the pork tenderloin into strips about 0.5cm wide. In a bowl, combine the pork with 1 Tbsp sake (to remove any gamey odor), 2 Tbsp soy sauce (for depth of flavor), 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide (for a nice glaze and hint of sweetness), and a pinch of salt. Mix well to coat the pork evenly. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
Step 2
After 10 minutes, heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 Tbsp of cooking oil. Add the marinated pork to the hot pan and stir-fry quickly. It’s important to keep the pork moving with chopsticks or a spatula to prevent it from clumping together as it cooks.
Step 3
Once the pork is about halfway cooked and no longer pink on the outside, add the thinly sliced onion to the pan. Continue to stir-fry them together. The sweetness of the onion will meld beautifully with the pork, enhancing the overall flavor.
Step 4
When the onion becomes tender and translucent, sprinkle in a pinch of black pepper to further eliminate any pork odor and add a touch of warmth. Stir-fry for just a moment longer. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the pork tough.
Step 5
You’re almost done! Place the warm cooked rice into a serving bowl. Generously spoon the delicious stir-fried pork mixture over the rice. Finally, top it all off with a fresh pile of crisp bean sprouts. Your vibrant and nutritious Pork and Sprout Bibimbap is now ready to be enjoyed! For an extra treat, consider adding a fried egg or some crumbled seaweed on top.
