- Soup soy sauce 2~3 Tbsp
- Sake (Mirin or cooking wine) 1~2 Tbsp
- Ground black pepper a pinch

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the dried seaweed. Soak the dried seaweed in lukewarm water for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable. Be careful not to oversoak, as it can become too mushy.
Step 2
Once the seaweed is rehydrated, rub it gently with your hands under running water to wash it thoroughly. This process removes any impurities and bitterness. Squeeze out excess water and cut the seaweed into bite-sized pieces (about 3-4 cm long).
Step 3
Prepare your imported beef for soup. If you have cuts with a bit of fat, they will contribute to a richer broth flavor.
Step 4
Soak the imported beef in cold water for about 10-15 minutes to remove any blood. This step is crucial for reducing any gamey odor and ensuring a clear broth. After soaking, thoroughly pat the beef dry with paper towels.
Step 5
Now, let’s start cooking! Place the prepared seaweed in a pot and add plenty of water. Bring it to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the drained beef, then immediately stir in the soup soy sauce, sake (or mirin/cooking wine), and ground black pepper. Boil over high heat for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the beef is tender. (*Tip: Sake and black pepper are excellent for eliminating any gamey smell from imported beef.)
Step 6
As the soup simmers, skim off any foam that rises to the surface to ensure a clean and delicious broth. Once everything is cooked through, taste the soup and adjust the seasoning. Add a pinch of salt if needed, or a little water if it’s too salty. Your delicious beef and seaweed soup is now ready!
