Ingredients

  • 1 packet of ramen
  • 2 slices of processed cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Parmesan cheese powder (optional)
  • Scallions, to taste
  • 1-2 red chili peppers (like Peperoncino or Cheongyang peppers), to taste
  • 500ml water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully measure and pour 500ml of water into a pot. The precise amount of water is crucial for extracting the best flavor from the ramen seasoning.

Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add the ramen noodles and the entire seasoning packet. Refer to the package instructions for cooking time, but aim for noodles that are slightly firm (al dente).

If you like your cheesy ramen with a kick, now is the time to add your chili peppers. Use Peperoncino for a mild heat or 1-2 Cheongyang peppers, finely chopped, for more spice. If you prefer no heat, simply skip this step.

Add your desired amount of chopped scallions. I used about half a handful to bring a fresh, aromatic touch to the ramen.

Immediately after adding the scallions, place one slice of processed cheese directly on top of the broth in the pot. You’ll see it begin to melt.

For an even richer cheese flavor, stir in 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese powder. If you don’t have Parmesan cheese, this step is optional but recommended for extra depth.

Check if the ramen noodles are cooked to your liking. Just before turning off the heat, place the second slice of processed cheese on top of the noodles. Turn off the heat and let the residual heat melt the cheese.
