It’s highly recommended for home parties, special occasions, or even as a quick yet elegant dinner option!
Main Ingredients- 200g peeled shrimp (frozen or fresh)
- 20g unsalted butter (approx. 1.5 Tbsp)
- 5-6 cloves whole garlic (sliced or left whole)
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried parsley flakes (for garnish)
- 3-4 dried red chili peppers (optional, for a spicy kick)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the peeled shrimp. Make a shallow cut along the back of each shrimp to remove the dark vein (digestive tract). Removing the vein ensures a clean, pleasant taste without any unpleasant flavors.
Step 2
After deveining, cut the shrimp in half lengthwise and spread them open. This butterfly effect creates a beautiful presentation when cooked and helps the seasonings penetrate evenly. Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly over the opened shrimp to season them. Let them marinate for at least 5 minutes.
Step 3
While the shrimp are marinating, prepare the butter and garlic. Peel the whole garlic cloves and slice them thinly or lightly smash them with the side of your knife. Have your minced garlic ready.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Sauté the sliced whole garlic and minced garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Once the garlic starts to turn golden, add the butter and stir until it melts, mixing well with the garlic. This step will release a rich aroma of butter and garlic.
Step 5
When the whole garlic in the pan seems sufficiently cooked and aromatic, add all the marinated shrimp. If you desire a spicy touch, add the crumbled dried red chili peppers at this stage as well. Stir-fry everything together quickly.
Step 6
The shrimp will cook rapidly over the heat, turning a vibrant orange color and naturally curling into a beautiful shape. Cook until the shrimp are no longer translucent and are fully cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the shrimp tough. Transfer the finished Butter Garlic Shrimp beautifully onto a serving plate.
Step 7
Finally, sprinkle dried parsley flakes over the top for a lovely garnish. Your delicious Butter Garlic Shrimp is ready! It tastes best served immediately while warm.
