Ingredients

  • 1 serving fresh kalguksu noodles
  • 4 cups mussel broth (approx. 800ml)
  • 1 cup cooked and cleaned mussel meat
  • 2 cups water (approx. 400ml) (for adjusting broth consistency)

Seasoning & Garnish

  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, in a pot, combine 4 cups of mussel broth and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once the broth starts boiling, rinse the kalguksu noodles under clean water and add them to the pot. Stir gently to prevent the noodles from sticking together as they cook.

Step 2

After about 3-4 minutes, when the noodles begin to soften, add the cooked mussel meat. Cook them together. It’s best not to overcook the mussels to prevent them from falling apart.

Step 3

When the noodles are almost cooked through and the broth returns to a boil, add 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic and mix well. Let it simmer for a moment longer to allow the garlic flavor to infuse into the broth.

Step 4

Finally, generously add the chopped green onions and simmer for another moment to complete your delicious mussel kalguksu. Serve hot immediately in bowls and enjoy. For an enhanced experience, serve with kimchi or a fresh radish salad.
