  • 120g well-fermented kimchi
  • 100g sweet corn
  • 100g firm tofu (avoid silken or soft tofu)

In your rice cooker, add 120g of chopped kimchi. Then, add 100g of tofu that has been mashed with a fork or spoon. Finally, add 100g of sweet corn separately. (Tip: Using firm tofu like that for pan-frying or stew is recommended for a better texture, rather than very soft types like silken or sundubu.)

Next, season the ingredients. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of red pepper flakes and 1 Tbsp of sugar over the kimchi. Drizzle 1 Tbsp of soy sauce over the mashed tofu. Lastly, pour 1 Tbsp of sesame oil over all the ingredients in the rice cooker to enhance the flavor.

To ensure the seasonings are well incorporated, it’s important to mix the kimchi and tofu separately. Gently mix the kimchi with its seasonings and the tofu with its soy sauce seasoning. This step allows each component to cook more thoroughly under the heat, resulting in a richer flavor.

Now, set your rice cooker to the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Cook’ function and let it cook for 9 minutes for the first stage. This will warm up the ingredients and begin to meld the flavors.
