How to Revive Undercooked Rice in an Electric Pressure Cooker
Sometimes when cooking rice in an electric pressure cooker, the water amount is misjudged, resulting in undercooked rice. Here’s a simple trick to bring that dry, hard rice back to life, making it wonderfully moist and fluffy!
Ingredients- Undercooked rice
- 1 paper cup of water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
It’s a common issue: sometimes when cooking rice in an electric pressure cooker, we misjudge the water level, and the rice ends up significantly undercooked. Those dry, loose grains that seemed destined for the ‘nurungji’ (scorched rice) can actually be revived into delicious, moist rice with a simple method.
Step 2
For a 6-serving portion of undercooked rice in your electric pressure cooker, prepare 1 paper cup of water. Gently and evenly sprinkle the water over the rice. Ensure the water is distributed across the entire surface so each grain can absorb moisture.
Step 3
After sprinkling the water, set your rice cooker to the ‘Cook’ or ‘Rice’ setting again. A cooking time of 40 minutes is recommended. Simply press start and let the cooker work its magic!
Step 4
Once the 40 minutes are up and you open the lid, you’ll be amazed. The previously dry and crumbly rice will have transformed into perfectly cooked, moist, and slightly glossy rice. Remember this tip for the next time you accidentally undercook your rice – it’s a game-changer!
