Revitalizing Detox Juice: Your Daily Morning Elixir
Start Your Day Right: A Simple Homemade Detox Juice Recipe
Embrace your mornings with a glass of revitalizing detox juice, serving as a perfect breakfast substitute for nearly a year now. As I entered my menopausal years, I felt a stronger need to take care of my body. While traditional advice often leans towards meat, I sought out a healthier, vegetable-focused diet and discovered the incredible benefits of detox juice. This recipe is a game-changer for several reasons: 1. It’s an excellent and filling breakfast replacement for busy mornings. 2. It promotes smoother digestion and regular bowel movements. 3. It contributes to healthier, clearer skin. 4. It significantly boosts nutrient absorption; raw vegetables offer 5-10% absorption, while boiled and blended vegetables increase this to around 60%. 5. It ensures you get a balanced intake of daily vegetables, making you feel good about nourishing your body. This recipe yields enough for a family of three for about a week, with one serving per person daily. Make it a part of your healthy routine!
Main Ingredients- 1/2 head cabbage
- 1 broccoli
- 5 tomatoes
- 4 carrots
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Chop all the vegetables into pieces that are slightly larger than bite-sized, ensuring they will blend well in your mixer. Since they will be boiled, you don’t need to cut them too small.
Step 2
In a pot, place the cabbage at the bottom, followed by the carrots and broccoli, and finally the tomatoes on top. Layering the vegetables helps them cook evenly.
Step 3
Add enough water to cover the vegetables and boil for about 20-25 minutes. Initially, cover the pot with a lid. Once it starts to boil over, slightly prop the lid open or remove it to prevent the precious vegetable broth from spilling. This broth is essential for the juice!
Step 4
Allow the boiled vegetables and broth to cool slightly. Transfer the mixture into an airtight container and refrigerate. This quantity should last a family of three for approximately one week. It’s not recommended to store for longer than a week, especially during warmer months, due to spoilage risks.
Step 5
For your daily serving, take a portion of the boiled vegetables. Add 1/4 apple and 1/2 banana to the blender. Pour in about 2 ladles of the reserved vegetable broth. You can adjust the amount of broth to achieve your desired consistency.
Step 6
Blend all the ingredients in your mixer until smooth and well combined. Your delicious and revitalizing detox juice is ready to enjoy!
