Main Ingredients- Canned Corn Kernels 1/2 can (drained)
- Onion 1/4 (finely minced)
- Unsalted Butter 1 Tbsp
- Granulated Sugar 1 Tbsp
- Mayonnaise 1 Tbsp
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (generous amount, adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1/2 can of canned corn kernels. It’s crucial to drain the corn kernels completely using a sieve. If there’s too much moisture, the mixture can become watery when sautéed, so be thorough in draining.
Step 2
Wash and peel 1/4 of an onion, then mince it very finely. Adding onion enhances the sweetness and flavor, making it even more delicious, but it’s okay to omit it if you dislike the texture of onions or find it bothersome to prepare.
Step 3
Melt 1 Tbsp of unsalted butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the drained corn kernels and the finely minced onion. Sauté them together for about 1-2 minutes, stirring to prevent burning. You’ll notice the aroma of cooked onion and toasty corn emerging.
Step 4
Once the corn and onion are lightly sautéed, add 1 Tbsp of granulated sugar and 1 Tbsp of mayonnaise. Stir well to coat the ingredients evenly. Continue to cook for another minute, allowing the sugar and mayonnaise to coat the mixture. This is where the sweet and savory harmony begins!
Step 5
Now, generously add shredded mozzarella cheese to the pan – this is the star of corn cheese! Reduce the heat to very low, cover the pan, or leave it uncovered, and wait until the cheese melts into a gooey consistency. In about 1 minute, the cheese will melt beautifully and meld with all the ingredients. Once the cheese is sufficiently melted, it’s ready! Enjoy it hot right away.
