How to Reheat Frozen Bungeoppang in an Air Fryer: Time and Temperature, Plus Making Red Bean Butter Bungeoppang
I had some leftover bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastries) from when I bought them recently, and I froze them. Today, I decided to reheat these frozen bungeoppang using my air fryer. I also took it a step further and transformed the red bean filled bungeoppang into a delightful red bean butter bungeoppang.
Ingredients- 2 Frozen Bungeoppang
- 2 slices Butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. This makes cleanup much easier later! Place the frozen bungeoppang directly onto the parchment paper in a single layer.
Step 2
Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 5 minutes. This initial heating will start to thaw and warm up the bungeoppang.
Step 3
After 5 minutes, carefully open the air fryer and flip the bungeoppang over. This ensures that both sides get evenly heated and become delightfully crispy.
Step 4
Return the bungeoppang to the air fryer and cook for another 5 minutes at 180°C (350°F). A total of 10 minutes should result in bungeoppang that’s crispy on the outside and warm throughout.
Step 5
Now, let’s make the red bean butter bungeoppang! While the bungeoppang is reheating, slice your butter into two equal pieces. Letting the butter sit at room temperature for a few minutes will soften it slightly, making it easier to place inside the bungeoppang.
Step 6
Once the bungeoppang is perfectly reheated, carefully remove them from the air fryer. Using a knife, gently slice each bungeoppang in half horizontally. Be cautious as the bungeoppang will be hot.
Step 7
Take one half of the sliced bungeoppang and generously place a slice of butter inside. The residual heat from the bungeoppang will begin to melt the butter, creating a delicious combination with the red bean paste. And there you have it – your homemade red bean butter bungeoppang, a perfect blend of sweet and savory! Enjoy them immediately while they’re warm.
