Refreshing Watermelon Slush: A Delightful Summer Treat
Homemade Watermelon Slush, Super Easy Recipe
Beat the heat with this refreshing watermelon slush recipe, made with frozen watermelon. It’s a simple and delicious way to enjoy the natural sweetness of watermelon.
Ingredients- 600g frozen watermelon chunks
- 4 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 Tbsp salt
- 200ml water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by preparing your frozen watermelon. You’ll need 600g of watermelon chunks that have been frozen solid. If the watermelon is too hard to blend easily, let it sit at room temperature for about 10-20 minutes to slightly thaw. This will make blending much smoother and prevent strain on your blender.
Step 2
Add a pinch of salt (about 1/4 Tbsp) to the slightly thawed watermelon. Don’t worry, it won’t make the slush salty! A small amount of salt actually enhances the natural sweetness of the watermelon, bringing out its full flavor profile.
Step 3
Next, pour in 4 Tbsp of fresh lemon juice. The lemon juice adds a lovely brightness and tang that balances the sweetness of the watermelon, making the slush even more refreshing. If your watermelon isn’t as sweet as you’d like, you can add a little honey or sugar to taste. I found the watermelon to be sweet enough on its own.
Step 4
Add 200ml of water to the blender with the watermelon, lemon juice, and salt. Now, blend everything together until you achieve a smooth, slushy consistency. If the mixture is too thick and difficult to blend, add a tablespoon or two more water at a time until it reaches your desired texture. Be careful not to add too much water, or it will become too thin.
Step 5
And there you have it – a perfectly blended, icy watermelon slush! Pour it into your favorite glass and enjoy this delightful homemade treat. It’s the ultimate way to cool down on a hot day!
