Essential Ingredients for Plum Sorbet- 4 ripe plums
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 sprig of apple mint (for garnish, optional)
- 4 ripe plums
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 sprig of apple mint (for garnish, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
[For the Plum Sorbet] First, let’s prepare the plum sorbet. Wash the ripe plums thoroughly. Score the skin with a knife, making a shallow cross pattern. This will make it easier to remove the pit and flesh later.
Step 2
Gently twist the scored plums to break them in half, then use a spoon to scoop out the pit. Place the plum flesh, 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of honey, and a few apple mint leaves (for a fresh aroma) into a blender. Blend until smooth, creating a vibrant plum juice.
Step 3
Pour the blended plum mixture into an airtight container or individual popsicle molds. Place in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or until completely frozen. For a smoother texture, you can scrape the mixture with a fork every hour while it freezes. Enjoy your delicious plum sorbet!
Step 4
[For the Raspberry Sorbet] Now, let’s make the tangy raspberry sorbet. In a blender, combine 1 cup of frozen raspberries, 1 cup of cool water, 3 tablespoons of honey, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Blend until smooth and well combined. Using frozen raspberries helps speed up the freezing process.
Step 5
Pour the blended raspberry mixture into another airtight container or molds. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm. This will yield a wonderfully refreshing raspberry sorbet. Feel free to adjust the amount of honey to your preference, or substitute lemon juice with lime juice for a different citrus note!
