Main Ingredients- Dried seaweed 50g
- Onion 1/4
- Cucumber 1/4
- Carrot 10g
Seasoning- Red pepper powder 2 Tbsp
- Sugar 1 Tbsp
- Vinegar 3 Tbsp
- Fish sauce 2 Tbsp
- Red pepper powder 2 Tbsp
- Sugar 1 Tbsp
- Vinegar 3 Tbsp
- Fish sauce 2 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, soak the dried seaweed in cold water until fully rehydrated. Once softened, cut the seaweed into bite-sized pieces, about 3-4 cm in length. If you prefer a softer texture, you can lightly blanch the seaweed after rehydrating.
Step 2
Peel and wash the onion, then thinly slice it into julienne strips. For a milder, crisper onion flavor, soak the sliced onion in cold water for a few minutes, then drain thoroughly before use.
Step 3
Wash the cucumber under running water, trim off the ends, then cut it in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to scoop out and discard the seeds. Slice the cucumber thinly on the diagonal. Peel and wash the carrot, then cut it into thin julienne strips.
Step 4
Combine all the prepared ingredients – the rehydrated seaweed, sliced onion, diagonal cucumber slices, and julienned carrot – in a large mixing bowl. Keep the vegetables fresh and ready for seasoning.
Step 5
Now, let’s make the delicious dressing and mix everything together! In the bowl, add 2 Tbsp of red pepper powder, 1 Tbsp of sugar, 3 Tbsp of vinegar, and 2 Tbsp of fish sauce for a savory depth. Gently mix the ingredients with your hands, tossing rather than vigorous stirring, to avoid breaking down the seaweed. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more vinegar or fish sauce if needed. This dried seaweed salad can be enjoyed immediately, or chilled in the refrigerator for an extra refreshing treat.
