Main Ingredients- Seaweed (Palae) 100g
- Radish 50g
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, it’s crucial to wash the seaweed thoroughly. Seaweed is not only inexpensive but also highly nutritious. Place the seaweed in running water and gently swirl it with your hands to clean. Rinse it multiple times until all the grit and debris are removed. Once clean, place it in a colander to drain any excess water.
Step 2
While seasoned seaweed alone is delicious, adding thinly sliced radish introduces a wonderful crisp texture that enhances the overall flavor experience. Wash the radish, peel it, and then slice it into fine julienne strips.
Step 3
Now, it’s time to mix in the seasonings. In a large bowl, combine the drained seaweed and the julienned radish. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Gently mix everything together with your hands, ensuring the seasonings coat the seaweed and radish evenly.
Step 4
Lightly toss the ingredients to distribute the seasonings evenly. This basic seasoned seaweed is now coming together. Don’t taste it yet; we’ll adjust the seasoning in the next step.
Step 5
Finally, add vinegar to introduce a refreshing tanginess. It’s best to start with a small amount and gradually add more while tasting, adjusting it to your personal preference. If you prefer a sweeter note instead of plain sugar, plum extract is an excellent alternative. For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a drizzle of sesame oil or a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Step 6
Gently toss the salad once more to ensure all the flavors are well combined. Transfer the finished seasoned seaweed salad to a serving dish. Enjoy this flavorful and refreshing side dish that’s sure to awaken your appetite!
