Quick Sautéed Cabbage
[Low-Sodium] A Simple and Clean Flavored Sautéed Cabbage Recipe!
We often enjoy cabbage in salads or as wraps after steaming, but have you ever tried stir-frying it? Stir-fried cabbage becomes a wonderfully mild and easily digestible low-sodium side dish. It’s packed with natural sweetness and a clean flavor. Let’s make this simple dish in just 5 minutes!
Ingredients- 1/8 head of cabbage
- A small amount of green onion (about 1 Tbsp, minced)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds to garnish
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the cabbage and thinly slice it into strips about 0.5 cm thick. Slicing it too thinly might make it too soft when cooked, so aim for a moderate thickness.
Step 2
Finely mince the green onion. You’ll want about 1 tablespoon’s worth. The fragrant aroma of the green onion will add depth to the flavor of the sautéed cabbage.
Step 3
Prepare a pan or wok with a bit of depth, and add the sliced cabbage and minced green onion directly into it.
Step 4
Add half a tablespoon of cooking oil. Turn the heat to medium and begin to quickly stir-fry the ingredients using chopsticks or a spatula. Keep tossing to prevent burning. Stir-frying should be swift.
Step 5
Once the cabbage starts to soften and wilt slightly, season it with a pinch of salt and pepper. For a low-sodium dish, it’s best to keep the seasoning light, but adjust to your preference.
Step 6
Quickly mix everything together once more, and your incredibly simple sautéed cabbage dish will be ready in about a minute! It’s a lightning-fast recipe.
Step 7
This sautéed cabbage retains a pleasant crispness while bringing out its natural sweetness. It’s a delicious side dish that’s perfect served with warm rice or as part of a hearty meal!
