I personally really love sea mustard! While some recipes involve lightly blanching seaweed, I prefer the slippery, raw texture of fresh sea mustard. Today, we’re making a quick and easy seasoned sea mustard dish using very simple ingredients. The preparation is incredibly straightforward, so let’s make it together! Let’s Go!
Ingredients- Sea mustard 1 bunch
Seasoning Ingredients- 1/3 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp chopped green onion
- Pinch of ground sesame seeds
- Pinch of whole sesame seeds
Optional Ingredients- Pinch of salt

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all your ingredients.

Rinse the sea mustard thoroughly under running water, rubbing it gently to remove any dirt or sliminess. You might usually use coarse salt for cleaning, but I found rinsing it multiple times with water works perfectly well. Once cleaned, gently squeeze out excess water.
Step 3
Cut the sea mustard into bite-sized pieces, about two finger-widths long, so they are not too large.
Step 4
Place the cut sea mustard into a mixing bowl.
Step 5
Finely chop about 2 tablespoons of green onion (or scallion).
Step 6
Add the chopped green onion, 1/3 tablespoon of minced garlic, and a pinch of ground sesame seeds to the bowl with the sea mustard. Gently mix and massage everything together with your hands until well combined.
Step 7
Taste a small piece of the seasoned sea mustard. If it needs more salt, gradually add a tiny pinch of salt (or soy sauce) at a time until it reaches your desired flavor.

Finally, sprinkle a pinch of whole sesame seeds over the top. Your quick and easy seasoned sea mustard is now ready to enjoy! This simple yet flavorful dish is a perfect side.
