Quick & Easy Apple Pie using Wonton Wrappers

Ingredients

  • 1 Apple (approx. 150-200g)
  • 150g Ricotta Cheese
  • 4 Tbsp Stevia (or sugar, adjust to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

Wash the apple thoroughly. Core it and then dice it into small cubes, about 1cm in size. For a pleasant bite, avoid dicing them too finely.

In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples. Add 4 tablespoons of stevia for sweetness, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon for a fragrant aroma, and 150g of ricotta cheese for creaminess. Gently mix all the ingredients together with a spatula or spoon until well combined. (Tip: The original recipe calls for 3 Tbsp of cinnamon, but 1 Tbsp provides plenty of flavor. Adjust the amount based on your preference for cinnamon intensity.)

Lightly moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with water. This helps them seal properly during frying. Place a generous spoonful of the apple and ricotta mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold the top and bottom edges towards the center, then fold in the left and right sides to create a rectangular packet. Press the edges firmly to seal, ensuring the filling doesn’t leak out.

Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the assembled apple pies into the hot oil. Fry them until they turn a golden brown color and become crispy on both sides. Once cooked, remove the pies from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Enjoy immediately while warm for the best texture!
