Quick & Easy 5-Minute Chilled Ramen (Naengramen) Recipe
Summer Delight: Chilled Ramen Ready in Just 5 Minutes!
A refreshing dish for my wife who feels the heat easily~
Ingredients
- 1 serving of ramen noodles (noodles only)
- 1/5 cucumber
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Korean green chili or regular green chili)
- 2 imitation crab sticks
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the toppings that will go on top of your chilled ramen. Wash the cucumber thoroughly, remove the seeds, and julienne it thinly. Tear or slice the imitation crab sticks into bite-sized pieces. Finely mince or thinly slice the chili pepper to add a spicy kick.
Step 2
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook for about 1 minute less than the package instructions to ensure a chewy texture (usually 2-3 minutes).
Step 3
While the noodles are cooking, prepare the broth. Either use one pack of pre-made cold noodle broth, or mix 300ml of water with one ramen soup packet, stirring well until fully dissolved. If using pre-made broth, have it ready.
Step 4
Drain the cooked noodles in a colander. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to remove excess starch and cool them down completely. This step makes the noodles extra springy and firm.
Step 5
Place the chilled noodles into a ramen bowl or a large serving bowl. Pour the cold broth over the noodles, ensuring they are well submerged.
Step 6
Now, artfully arrange the prepared toppings over the noodles. Add the julienned cucumber, imitation crab sticks, and minced chili pepper for both flavor and visual appeal.
Step 7
Finally, for an extra refreshing touch, add a few ice cubes if desired. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for a nutty aroma. Your delightful summer chilled ramen is now complete in just 5 minutes! Enjoy your meal!
