Main Ingredients- Beef bulgogi meat 600g
- All-purpose soy sauce marinade 3 cups
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
You’ll be marinating both packs of beef bulgogi meat. It’s convenient to marinate them together and then portion them out as needed for cooking. Alternatively, you can cook all of it at once, freeze the leftovers, and then easily reheat them in the microwave when craving some delicious bulgogi.
Step 2
Pour the 3 cups of all-purpose soy sauce marinade over the beef bulgogi meat. Gently massage and mix the meat with your hands to ensure the marinade penetrates every piece thoroughly. This ‘jumeok-jumeok’ (rubbing) motion helps tenderize the meat and distribute the flavor.
Step 3
Cover the marinated beef bulgogi with plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container. Let it rest and marinate in the refrigerator for at least one full day. This aging process allows the flavors to meld beautifully and the meat to become incredibly tender.
Step 4
After a day of marination, your beef bulgogi will be beautifully infused with flavor and look incredibly appetizing. It’s now perfectly ready for cooking!
Step 5
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add just a tiny bit of cooking oil. You only need enough to prevent sticking. As the bulgogi cooks, it will release some liquid from the marinade, so be prepared for a bit of moisture in the pan.
Step 6
If you prefer your bulgogi extra crispy and with a smoky flavor, try this method: First, cook the marinated beef in the pan until it’s almost done. Then, remove the cooked beef from the pan. Next, reduce the remaining marinade in the pan until it becomes a thick sauce. Once the sauce has thickened and almost all the liquid has evaporated, return the cooked beef to the pan and stir-fry for another minute. This technique imparts a wonderful char and a deep, smoky taste reminiscent of grilled meat.
Step 7
Finally, drizzle 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over the cooked bulgogi for an aromatic finish, and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds on top. Congratulations! You’ve made delicious, crispy beef bulgogi effortlessly with your all-purpose soy sauce marinade.
