Ingredients

  • 1 pack Quail eggs (approx. 270g)
  • 2 Onions (medium size)
  • 1 block Curry roux (choose your favorite flavor)
  • 700ml Water (about 3.5 cups)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash and peel the 2 onions. Slice them thinly into strips. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a wide, deep pan over low heat. Add the sliced onions and begin to sauté them slowly. It’s important to cook them gently without burning to bring out their natural sweetness.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently rinse the quail eggs under running water and pat them dry. In a separate pan, heat a generous amount of cooking oil over medium heat. Add the quail eggs and pan-fry them until they are golden brown. Rolling them around ensures they cook evenly and develop a nice color.

Step 2

Step 3

Continue to sauté the onions until they become translucent and start to turn golden brown. This caramelization process will add a deep sweetness and rich flavor to the curry. Once the onions are well-sautéed, add the pan-fried quail eggs to the pan. Pour in the 700ml of water and bring it to a simmer.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water is simmering, add the 1 block of curry roux. Stir well to dissolve the roux completely, ensuring there are no lumps. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to stir and cook until the curry thickens to your desired consistency, usually about 5-10 minutes. Your delicious quail egg curry is now ready! Serve generously over warm rice and enjoy.
