Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, place 300g of premium Hanwoo ground meat in a bowl. Season it gently with a pinch of salt and pepper, mixing carefully to retain the juices. This step helps enhance the natural flavor of the Hanwoo beef.
Step 2
Shape the seasoned ground beef into a round, thick patty, about 2cm thick. The charm of a handmade burger lies in its thick patty! Making it thick ensures it stays juicy and allows you to fully savor the deep flavor and aroma of the Hanwoo.
Step 3
Now, let’s prepare the pan. Add a piece of butter and 2 Tbsp of olive oil to the pan, and set the heat to low. A low, gentle heat is crucial to prevent the outside from burning before the inside is cooked.
Step 4
Carefully place the thick beef patty into the heated pan. The most important tip here is not to flip the patty too often! Let one side cook until it’s golden brown and fully cooked before flipping it just once to cook the other side. This method helps to seal in the juices.
Step 5
Once the patty is partially cooked in the pan, it’s time to infuse it with a smoky flavor. Transfer the cooked patty to a grill rack. Using a kitchen torch or direct flame, lightly char the surface of the patty. This adds a wonderful smoky aroma, creating a truly gourmet handmade burger. This step is the secret to its sophisticated flavor!
Step 6
Return the flame-kissed patty to the pan over low heat. Now, place 2 slices of cheddar cheese evenly on top of the patty. Once the cheese begins to melt, cover the patty and cheese with a lid or bowl. Allow the residual heat to gently melt the cheese, and turn off the heat just before the cheese is fully melted. Overcooking can make the cheese tough, so timing is key.
Step 7
Let’s make a special sauce for the burger bun. In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp of mayonnaise and 1 Tbsp of Sriracha hot sauce, mixing well. You can adjust the amount of Sriracha to your preference to create your own unique sauce.
Step 8
Double-check the patty with the cheese from step 5. The cheese should be beautifully melted and gooey from the patty’s heat, making it perfect for eating. Turn off the heat at this point. Avoid overcooking!
Step 9
Now, prepare the hamburger buns. Spread the prepared Sriracha sauce generously on the inside of one half of the bun. Adding about 1/2 Tbsp of zesty mustard will further enhance the burger’s flavor profile. Feel free to adjust this to your liking.
Step 10
It’s time to assemble the burger! Start by placing crisp lettuce leaves on the bottom half of the bun. Layer on thinly sliced onion, a slice of fresh tomato, and 2 sprigs of chicory. Finally, top with the beautifully cooked Hanwoo patty and melted cheese, then place the top half of the bun to complete your magnificent handmade burger!
Step 11
Doesn’t this premium handmade burger, with its thick Hanwoo patty and rich melted cheese, look absolutely delicious? It would be a wonderful activity to make these with your family on the weekend. This special handmade burger, packed with nutrients perfect for growing children, is a must-try!
