  • Cooking Time : Within 60 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Ingredients

  • 10 ears of fresh corn
  • 4.5 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1.5 Tbsp coarse salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, just before boiling, peel the outer husks from the corn ears. Instead of removing all the husks, it’s best to leave about one layer intact. Boiling the corn with some husks and the silk attached enhances its natural sweetness and flavor, making it exceptionally delicious. The husks act as a wonderful natural flavoring agent!

Step 1

Step 2

Trim any dirty or dry parts of the corn silk using scissors, as shown in the picture. This ensures a cleaner and more hygienic cooking process.

Step 2

Step 3

Arrange the corn ears in the pressure cooker, staggering them slightly for even cooking. Pour in enough water to completely submerge the corn.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, let’s add the flavorings. Dissolve 4.5 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1.5 tablespoons of coarse salt into the water. A ratio of approximately 3 parts sugar to 1 part salt will bring out the corn’s natural sweetness while adding the perfect touch of saltiness. Try this golden ratio to elevate your corn’s flavor!

Step 4

Step 5

Securely close the lid of the pressure cooker and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the pressure indicator starts to whistle, reduce the heat to medium or low. Continue to cook for about 25 to 30 minutes. Once done, allow it to rest and steam inside the cooker. This will result in perfectly soft and sweet corn. Enjoy your delicious corn!
