How to Make a Delicious Fried Egg Easily
A fried egg is simply delicious with anything! Whether it’s on a warm bed of rice, nestled in a hearty sandwich, or enjoyed on its own, it’s always a guaranteed ‘flavor bomb’. Let me share the secrets to making a perfect fried egg every time, without fail. I’ll even include tips for adjusting the doneness from runny to fully cooked.
Basic Ingredients- 1 Fresh Egg
- 1 Pinch of Seasoned Salt (or regular salt)
- A small amount of Olive Oil or Cooking Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, preheat your frying pan over medium-low heat. Be careful, as a pan that’s too hot can cause the egg to burn quickly. Once the pan is adequately warm, add a very small amount of olive oil or your preferred cooking oil, just enough to lightly coat the surface. Too much oil can make the egg greasy.
Step 2
When the pan is warm, carefully crack the egg and gently place it in the center of the pan. The key here is to avoid breaking the yolk as you add it. Immediately after placing the egg, sprinkle a pinch of seasoned salt or regular salt over it. For an extra flavor boost, you can also add a touch of black pepper.
Step 3
Now, it’s time to cook it to your desired doneness and enjoy!
**For a runny yolk (sunny-side up):** Once the egg whites begin to set, reduce the heat to low and cover the pan for 1-2 minutes. This will result in a beautifully runny yolk with set whites – a success if the yolk flows when gently poked!
**For a fully cooked yolk (over-hard):** Continue to cook over low heat until both the egg whites and yolk are completely firm. You can also flip the egg gently for a moment to ensure the yolk is cooked through.
Break a runny yolk over warm rice for a delightful mix, or place it on toast for a simple yet satisfying meal!
