Perfect French Toast for Kids: Soft, Sweet, and Irresistible!
A Quick & Delicious Treat: Make Soft and Sweet French Toast for Your Little Ones!
Made this French toast as a special snack for my daughter, who’s on vacation, and my son who came home after a long time. It’s a delightful treat that’s both soft and sweet, perfect for children and adults alike.
Main Ingredients- 1 loaf of bread (approx. 4-6 slices)
- 7-8 fresh eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
Flavor Enhancers- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1-2 pinches of salt
- A little sunflower oil for cooking
- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1-2 pinches of salt
- A little sunflower oil for cooking
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, crack 7-8 fresh eggs. Using chopsticks, carefully remove the chalazae (the white stringy bits) from the egg whites. This step ensures a smoother custard and a less eggy flavor.
Step 2
Add 1/2 cup of milk, 1 Tbsp of granulated sugar, and 1-2 pinches of salt to the eggs. Whisk everything together thoroughly until well combined, creating a smooth and uniform custard mixture.
Step 3
Dip the slices of bread into the prepared egg mixture. Allow each side to soak for about 10-20 seconds, ensuring the bread absorbs the custard evenly. Be careful not to oversoak, or the bread might become too soggy and fall apart.
Step 4
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of sunflower oil. Carefully place the custard-soaked bread slices onto the hot pan. For an extra rich and moist texture, ladle a spoonful of the egg mixture over the top of each slice as it cooks.
Step 5
Once the bottom side of the French toast is golden brown and cooked, flip it over. Cook the other side until it’s also beautifully golden and slightly crisp. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning and ensure even cooking.
Step 6
Arrange the perfectly cooked French toast on a plate. For an extra touch of sweetness, you can sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon powder on top, or serve with your favorite jam. My daughter loves hers with homemade tangerine jam and milk, while I enjoy mine with a hot cup of coffee.
