Oyster Rice Cooked in an Electric Pressure Cooker: A Flavorful Delicacy
Easy Electric Pressure Cooker Oyster Rice Recipe: Boost Your Immunity with This Delicious Dish
Let’s make a special oyster rice using fresh oysters from the market and an electric pressure cooker. This one-bowl meal is so delicious that you won’t need any other side dishes. It’s a perfect way to enjoy a hearty and satisfying meal.
Main Ingredients- 300g fresh oysters
- 300g soybean sprouts
- 1/4 head of napa cabbage kimchi
Seasoning & Others- 1 Tbsp coarse salt (for cleaning oysters)
- 1/3 Tbsp sesame oil (for seasoning kimchi)
- 1 Tbsp coarse salt (for cleaning oysters)
- 1/3 Tbsp sesame oil (for seasoning kimchi)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the fresh oysters. Carefully inspect them to remove any shells or debris, ensuring the natural flavor of the oysters is preserved.
Step 2
Add 1 tablespoon of coarse salt to the prepared oysters. Gently stir them without crushing to remove any impurities from the surface. This step helps to clean the oysters thoroughly.
Step 3
Rinse the oysters several times in clean water. Drain them well in a colander. It’s best to use the oysters immediately after washing, as they can spoil quickly.
Step 4
Now, let’s cook the delicious oyster rice. Add washed rice to your electric pressure cooker. Generously layer the soybean sprouts on top of the rice. The sprouts will help make the rice fluffy and delicious.
Step 5
Gently remove the filling from the napa cabbage kimchi, then finely chop the kimchi. In a small bowl, mix the chopped kimchi with 1/3 tablespoon of sesame oil until well combined. Place this seasoned kimchi on top of the soybean sprouts. The tangy kimchi adds a wonderful flavor to the rice.
Step 6
Finally, carefully place the drained oysters on top of the kimchi. Use slightly less water than you normally would for cooking rice, as the oysters and kimchi will release moisture. Cook the rice using the multi-grain or regular setting on your rice cooker. (If using pressure cooking, you might need to reduce the water further; refer to your rice cooker’s manual.)
Step 7
When a delicious aroma of oysters fills the air, your rice is ready! Open the lid to reveal a tempting oyster rice dish mixed with fresh oysters and vegetables. Serve with your favorite seasoned soy sauce for an extra burst of flavor.
