  • 1 medium sweet potato (preferably orange-fleshed)
  • 1 slice of baby cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly wash and peel the sweet potato. Steam it or microwave it until it’s very tender. While it’s still warm, mash the cooked sweet potato using a fork or a potato masher until it’s completely smooth and lump-free. You can also mash it by hand.

Step 2

Now, we’ll mix in the baby cheese. To help the cheese melt smoothly, place the mashed sweet potato in the microwave for about 30 seconds to warm it up slightly. Be careful not to overheat it, as it could burn. Once warm, add the slice of baby cheese on top of the sweet potato. Mash them together with a fork until well combined and creamy.

Step 3

It’s important to thoroughly mash and mix the ingredients to ensure the cheese is fully incorporated into the sweet potato and doesn’t clump. Make sure there are no lumps of cheese remaining. This will create a wonderfully smooth consistency that your baby will love.

Step 4

Time to shape these into bite-sized balls that are perfect for your baby to hold and eat! Take small portions of the sweet potato and cheese mixture and gently roll them into small balls, about the size of a baby’s fist or smaller. Shaping them into easy-to-hold portions will make snack time even more enjoyable.

Step 5

We’ll use an air fryer to cook these delightful cheese balls. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper (or a liner) and arrange the sweet potato cheese balls, leaving a little space between each one so they don’t stick together. Air fry at 160°C (320°F) for about 10 minutes. This will give you a wonderful ‘crispy outside, soft inside’ texture! Keep an eye on them during cooking to ensure they don’t burn.
