Super Simple Anchovy Garlic Fried Rice: Utilizing Leftover Banchan
Whip up this incredibly flavorful and nutritious fried rice using leftover stir-fried anchovies that were prepared for the kids’ side dishes. It’s a simple yet satisfying meal.
Main Ingredients- 3 Tbsp dried anchovies (stir-fried in oil)
- 3 cloves garlic
- A small amount of green onion
Seasoning- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thinly slice the garlic cloves and finely chop the green onion. Slicing the garlic thinly will enhance its flavor as it cooks.
Step 2
Heat 1-2 Tbsp of butter or cooking oil in a preheated pan. Add the thinly sliced garlic and chopped green onion. Sauté over low heat until fragrant and the flavors have infused into the oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic and green onions.
Step 3
Add the 3 Tbsp of dried anchovies to the fragrant garlic and green onion mixture and stir-fry together. (If your anchovies are already stir-fried in oil, they will be even more delicious and savory!) Add 1 serving of cooked rice and 1 tsp of oyster sauce. Oyster sauce adds a savory depth and seasoning. Using a spatula or spoon, gently break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry until all ingredients are well combined with the oyster sauce. Once cooked, transfer to a serving bowl for a delightful anchovy garlic fried rice!
