  • 1 pack King Oyster mushrooms (approx. 200g)
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil (for stir-frying)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp perilla oil
  • 0.3 Tbsp oyster sauce (approx. 1/2 tsp)
  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds

First, it’s important to prepare the King Oyster mushrooms properly. Use a knife to cleanly trim off the tough base of the mushrooms. Instead of washing them with water, which can make them soggy, gently wipe away any dirt or debris with a slightly damp kitchen towel or a clean cloth. This method helps preserve the mushrooms’ wonderful texture and flavor, preventing them from becoming mushy.

Now, let’s get ready for the stir-frying. Heat a pan over medium-low heat, then add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1 tablespoon of perilla oil. These oils will add a wonderful aroma. Using both oils together creates a rich, nutty flavor. If you don’t have perilla oil, using only sesame oil is also fine.
