Nutrient-Rich Dried Vegetable Mix Rolled Omelet
Easy and Delicious Rolled Omelet with Dried Vegetable Mix
In an era where processed foods are prevalent, many people struggle to consume enough vegetables and whole grains. Dietary fiber has emerged as a crucial nutrient for modern individuals, often called the ‘sixth nutrient.’ It activates beneficial gut bacteria, aiding in the efficient removal of waste and toxins from the body, and also helps strengthen the immune system. Today, we’ll be making a rolled omelet using a convenient dried vegetable mix. This dish is perfect for a healthy side dish for kids or a quick snack!
Ingredients- 5 fresh eggs
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (like mirin)
- 2 Tbsp water
- A pinch of sea salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 sachet of dried vegetable mix (ready to use, no soaking required)
- Cooking oil (like canola or grapeseed oil), as needed
- Ketchup, for serving (optional)
- Mustard, for serving (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, crack 5 fresh eggs into a clean bowl. The foundation of a delicious rolled omelet starts with good quality eggs.
Step 2
To achieve a smooth texture, strain the beaten eggs through a fine-mesh sieve. This step removes any chalazae or uneven parts, resulting in a wonderfully soft and uniform omelet. Tip: Straining the egg mixture significantly improves the omelet’s texture.
Step 3
To eliminate any eggy odor, add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine. Season with a pinch of sea salt to taste. For an even more tender and moist omelet, add 2 tablespoons of water. These additions will ensure your omelet is both flavorful and exceptionally soft.
Step 4
Now it’s time to add the nutrient-packed dried vegetable mix. This mix is designed for immediate use, so no pre-soaking is necessary. Add the dried vegetable mix to the egg batter and stir well with chopsticks or a whisk until the vegetables are evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Ensuring an even distribution is key for both flavor and appearance.
Step 5
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add a moderate amount of cooking oil. Wipe the pan with a paper towel to create a thin, even layer of oil. Pour a thin layer of the prepared egg mixture into the pan. Once about 80% of the egg has set and the edges are lightly cooked, gently start rolling it from one end. Push the rolled omelet to one side of the pan, pour more egg mixture into the empty space, and as it cooks, roll the existing omelet into the new layer. Repeat this process to create a thick and beautifully layered omelet.
Step 6
Once the omelet is fully cooked, let it cool slightly on a cutting board. It’s best to let it cool for a few minutes before slicing, as it can crumble if cut while too hot. Slice it into your desired thickness with a sharp knife. The golden-brown exterior will look very appetizing.
Step 7
Your vibrant and nutritious rolled omelet with the dried vegetable mix is ready! Enjoy it as is, or serve with ketchup or mustard for an extra touch of flavor. It’s a healthy and delicious meal or a satisfying snack!
