How to Make Tofu Rice Bowl: Simple Stir-Fried Tofu Recipe
Tofu is a healthy ingredient packed with plant-based protein. There are many dishes you can make with tofu, and today, I’ve prepared a delicious rice bowl using it. It’s perfect as a complete meal! Let me introduce you to this wonderful tofu dish.
Main Ingredients- 1 block firm tofu
- 1/2 large green onion (scallion)
- 1 pack baby greens
- 1 medium onion
- 3 mini cabbages
- 10 perilla leaves (shiso leaves)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wrap the block of tofu in a clean kitchen cloth and squeeze out as much water as possible. Transfer the squeezed tofu to a bowl and mash it with a fork or your hands. Properly draining the tofu is crucial for a delicious stir-fry that doesn’t clump.
Step 2
Finely chop the green onion and onion. Place the chopped vegetables in a frying pan and stir-fry over medium heat until the moisture evaporates. Cooking the vegetables thoroughly will bring out their natural sweetness and enhance the flavor.
Step 3
In a small bowl, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp brown sugar, 1 Tbsp fish sauce, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 2 Tbsp gochujang, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir well to create the seasoning sauce. Ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed.
Step 4
Add the mashed tofu to the pan with the stir-fried vegetables. Pour the prepared seasoning sauce over the tofu and vegetables, and stir-fry together. Mix well to ensure the tofu is evenly coated with the sauce.

To enhance the flavor and aroma, add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds to the tofu stir-fry. The nutty aroma of sesame oil and the texture of sesame seeds will make your tofu rice bowl even more delicious.
Step 6
Wash the mini cabbages and perilla leaves, and thinly slice them. Arrange them attractively on a plate, similar to a fresh salad.

Place a generous portion of freshly cooked, hot rice on top of the arranged greens on the plate.

Add a handful of fresh baby greens on top of the rice to add color and texture.
