Nostalgic Sausage Pizza Bread
You Won’t Buy Bread Anymore After Trying This Homemade Sausage Pizza Bread!
This sausage pizza bread brings back childhood memories! I used to be unable to eat even a single slice of pizza because it was too rich, but now I enjoy anything with pizza flavor. Especially, this sausage pizza bread with a pizza twist is perfect for my palate. It’s funny how I dislike excessive cheese in most dishes nowadays, yet I firmly believe pizza must be loaded with mozzarella to be delicious. And while I’m not a huge fan of sausages, I do love bread with sausages – what an ironic taste I have! To satisfy my picky preferences, I’ve made this sausage pizza bread with incredibly generous toppings this time. The dough itself is the best I’ve ever made; the bread’s flavor alone is outstanding. While all my previous bread creations were delicious, this one felt truly out of this world. Even my kids, who usually aren’t big fans of pizza bread, absolutely loved it, clearing their plates with a lingering desire for more, saying ‘We want to eat it again and again!’ You’ll be amazed twice: first by the bread’s soft texture, and then by the abundant toppings and the stretchy, gooey cheese. Bake these delicious sausage pizza breads as a wonderful snack for your children! Have a delightful weekend! ♡

- A small amount of carrot, finely chopped
- 1/2 can corn kernels, drained
- Plenty of mozzarella cheese
- 8 sausages, cut in half or into bite-sized pieces
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Use a bread maker to combine the dough ingredients (bread flour, milk, butter, dry yeast, salt, sugar) and complete the kneading and first proofing process. (If kneading is too much trouble, you can use store-bought bread dough.)
Step 2
Drain the corn kernels from the can and rinse them briefly under hot water. This helps to reduce any metallic taste from the can.
Step 3
Blanch the sausages in boiling water to remove excess oil, then drain them thoroughly. Cut them into desired sizes, such as in half or 2-3 cm pieces.
Step 4
Lightly oil a pan and sauté the chopped onions and carrots over low heat until softened. Pre-cooking the vegetables helps to remove excess moisture, preventing the bread from becoming soggy when topped.
Step 5
Punch down the proofed dough to release the gas. Divide the dough into your desired portions (usually 6-8 pieces), shape them into balls, and let them rest for 10-15 minutes (intermediate proofing). After resting, flatten each dough ball into an oval or your preferred shape. Place the prepared sausages on top and carefully seal the edges to form the pizza bread shape. (Ensure the sausage is enclosed securely so it doesn’t spill out.)
Step 6
Spread your prepared sauce (a mixture of mayonnaise, honey mustard, ketchup, honey, and pepper) evenly over the shaped dough. Then, generously top with the sautéed vegetables, drained corn, and plenty of mozzarella cheese. You can also sprinkle some dried parsley for extra flavor and visual appeal.
Step 7
Bake the sausage pizza breads in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Adjust the temperature and baking time according to your oven’s specifications.
Step 8
Once baked, carefully remove the pizza breads from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack. While they are delicious when hot, allowing them to cool slightly enhances the overall flavor and texture of the bread.
